Hey!
At Uber, we solved fascinating challenges at an unprecedented speed and scale. Each day was full of opportunities to enhance our cities worldwide. I most recently led a Design Operations team focused on hiring and growth initiatives for the design team. Previously I was a design manager on teams building employee productivity tools (e.g. an employee directory, an internal chat product, a product launch tracker, etc.) and career products (e.g. uber.com/careers, an applicant tracking system, a total compensation tool, an internal job board, etc.) I started at Uber leading design and UX research across our experimentation, communications, and Freight teams.
Here are the three things set me apart from other interaction designers:
Sketching
Design research
Global experience
My core interaction design skills were honed at frog while working for diverse clients and with teams of talented designers, strategists, technologists, and project managers.
I'm happiest when leveraging my learnings from living overseas, from studying industrial design and business, and from getting in the trenches with start-ups to solve meaningful problems with global impact at the convergence of software, hardware, and service.
As a team leader, I strive to be equally empathetic for both our end users and our project's stakeholders, to cultivate opportunities for team members, and to pursue my passions including clean tech and the outdoors.
I live with my wife, Karin, and our two boys in the San Francisco area.
